How I love my garden. The sonorous drone of happy bees, birds calling, chatting and singing and my favorite whirrrr of the hummingbirds wings as they drink from the Artemesia.
Currently, however, (please don’t let on to the rest of the gang) I’m having a love affair with Miss Dahlia. New to my garden this year, I am speechless with wonder at her glory.

I find myself lost in the perfection of the mandala the Dahlia offers and can gaze deeper and deeper into the spiral of the Universe it seems.
This one is one of my favorites and she is currently rockin’ her sexy self to the world, calling all bees and birds!

I’ve received so many tips on the creators of the lovely vision I call the Sleeping Goddess. The name give her by her creators is The Mud Maid….not nearly as evocative as the Sleeping Goddess, but there you have it. The sculpture was created by Susan and her brother, Peter, Hill. Susan is also known for her work on the Eden Project.
Thanks to everyone that helped find the answers!

The Card of the Day
Today I drew from Isha Lerner’s sweet Power of Flowers oracle deck. My card for today is Lotus and Quan Yin will be guiding me, though most days I am mindful of She who hears the cries of the world. Quan Yin is the Goddess of compassion and mercy.
The Blessing of this card is:
Divine Lotus,
Your thousand petaled blossom ignites,
Spiritual rebirth and keen insight,
In silent bliss,
In infinite Love,
I embody your Wisdom,
From above.
Quan-Yin comes to you at this moment to reassure and inspire you in your spiritual quest for full awakening. As a bodhisattva of infinite compassion, She appears to you in whatever form will most aid you on your journey. Your yearning for enlightenment is witnessed, honored and fulfilled.
Quan-Yin sits on the Thousand Petaled Throne, the tantric symbol for the “yoni,” or feminine principle. She honors the water of life, the Great Womb of Suchness, wherein all beings reside - whether in ignorance or in an enlightened state. Pregnant with all possibilities, She makes even the most profound realization possible, and no one awakens without embracing Her feminine nature in the process. This card signifies spiritual birth. The vessel at Quan-Yin’s side is a gift of Her mysteries offered to you. You are crowned with the Thousand Petaled Lotus for many seeds of wisdom are germinating within you. What new level of realization are you about to birth?
She is dear to my heart and I am thinking She has a special message for me today and that is to remember to be kind to myself. It is second nature for me have and share compassion and empathy with others, yet I realize that I can certainly gaze at the face in the mirror with much more tenderness, understanding and compassion than I have of late. And so shall it be.
May your day be filled with loving kindness and sweet understanding as well.

The banner on my site is a picture from the Lost Gardens of Heligan, located in Cornwall, UK. I saw the picture at Lunaea’s blog site and fell in love with Her. She looked, to me, like Asherah dreaming of humanity and all our joys, triumphs, and foibles…
I still do not know who the creatrix/creator of this lovely vision is yet; I do know that She is so evocative I felt inspired simply looking at the picture. How I would love to wander down a meandering path and find Her there!
I did find this little cutie though:
and thought about Lunaea immediately, as she has an affinity for the Badger folk. It’s so hard to believe this little cub can be so ferocious!

I love the Tarot; from it’s clouded origins (sometime in the early 15th century, somewhere in Northern Italy) to the beautifully created decks today, my fascination with the cards is deeply ingrained.
I like to choose a card for the day while I am sipping my tea first thing in the morning. This practice offers me a theme or mantra for the day to embody and meditate upon.
Today’s card, from the Wisdom of the Crone Deck is Fire!
Fire, the origin of the creative force in its purest form represents pruification or ‘burning away the dross.’ The Phoenix was reborn from the ashes. Honor the creative fire within. Feed your passions, fan the flames higher.
I feel the nudge to complete art projects I am finishing up. Not to mention the creative fire needed to maintain a blog.
I plan to feed my fire with permission to create in as many ways as I can think of today, without judgement of outcomes, or comparing my results to others. To create for the joy of creating.
Blessings

I am now a legitimate blogger and the challenge is to write regularly. Historically, I wrote copiously and for some reason that fell away. So, I’ve begun the challenge to reclaim my verbal muse. Thanks to Kat Auch, my dearest dear friend and spirit sister, who is so tech savvy, for assisting with its creation as well as that of my website. The website is on it’s way… and I’m happy to start with a blog. So welcome to my world, hope you enjoy your visit.
Here is a picture of our new kitty, Purrsephone. We adopted her 6 days ago and think she is the cat’s meow!
